TINNITUS SPECIALISTS NEAR YOU

Speak to a hearing care professional about your tinnitus.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

Having tinnitus and taking the first steps to manage it can sometimes feel very intimidating. You are not alone – our tinnitus specialists can support you every step of the way.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Beforehand

Complete questionnaires on medical history, lifestyle factors, your tinnitus experience etc.

Beginning

Based on the information provided, the HCP will discuss your concerns about your tinnitus with you.

During

The HCP will do a full hearing test with you, which includes a full examination of the physical ear, testing hearing sensitivity, and the ability to hear speech.

Why a hearing test and not a tinnitus test? About 70 – 90% of those with tinnitus also have hearing loss (depending on where in the world you are), so it is standard to first assess whether a hearing loss is present and thus the likely cause of your tinnitus.

End

The HCP will discuss your hearing test results with you and how they may/may not be related to your tinnitus. They will also discuss what the next steps look like – either treating a hearing loss, starting a tinnitus management program or perhaps seeing another medical professional.

After

If there is a hearing loss to be treated, you will have the choice of obtaining hearing aids. With or without hearing aids, the HCP will develop a tinnitus management program for you. Lastly, if any further testing is necessary, the HCP may refer you to another medical professional.
